Hi, I’m Laura Scott.

I’m a New York City-based actor-playwright-producer-poet-friend-daughter-sister-collaborator-artist-etc. Born and raised in North Carolina, I received my BFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

Acting has opened up my world. To explore freedom and compassion within the vastness of the human experience through theatre and film is, to me, the ultimate gift.

More than anything, I want to tell innovative and empathy-driven stories and participate in caring, creative community. And if I can make people laugh/cry/question/learn/care in the process, that’s even better.

Caring is cool! Let’s do it together.

    I am in an upcoming workshop of The Ballad of Joan & Jane by Sarah Groustra, directed by Amina Khelif.

  • Business Ideas @ Clubbed Thumb

    I recently played Lisa in Business Ideas by Milo Cramer, directed by Laura Dupper, as part of Clubbed Thumb’s Summerworks 2025. The play ran May 14-27 at the wild project.

    The New York Times called it “a thoughtful, heightened comedy with a Grade-A cast.”

  • Midsummer Night's Dream @ Opera House Arts

    This summer, I played Helena in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Kathryn Markey.

    The play ran June 19-29 at Opera House Arts in Stonington, Maine.

  • The Actors Center Mentorship Program

    Last October, I became one of 16 actors chosen to participate in The Actors Center’s inaugural Mentorship Program for Early Career Artists.
